How do crazy people come to power?
I just saw ‘The Last King of Scotland’ and was wondering how exactly people who are completely insane become immensely powerful. It seems to happen every so often. Specifically, how did Idi Amin get to such a high position? I mean, I guess a coup kind of skips the "weed out the crazy people" step that the democratic process has. But wouldn’t someone have assassinated him before he got too powerful?
