I need a certain kind of horror/ thriller?
Are there any good movies like the orphange or cold creek manor where theres a mystery and someone has to look past at the past to solve it. the creepier the better.

I really enjoyed the Orphanage but not so much Cold Creek Manor. I think The Uninvited falls in between.

In-Laws, The (2003)

IMDB rating: 6.50

Plot: When prospective fathers-in-law Steve Tobias and Jerry Peyser meet for the first time to celebrate their children’s upcoming marriage, the cake hits the fan. Dr. Jerome Peyser is a mild-mannered podiatrist with a well-organized daily routine designed to eliminate all possible sources of stress. Meanwhile, daredevil CIA operative Steve Tobias moves through life like a heat-seeking missile. His average day consists of dodging bullets, stealing private jets and negotiating with international arms smugglers. Now he’s giving potential father-of-the-bride Jerry a serious case of pre-nuptial jitters. Steve’s dramatic entrances and exits, his cryptic references to a Russian runaway named Olga and his fight with a gunman in a restaurant washroom causes Jerry to see a vision of his daughter’s perfectly planned wedding blowing up in his face. As far as Jerry’s concerned, letting Steve into his family takes til death do us part way too literally. Before he can say the wedding is off, Jerry suddenly finds himself embroiled in the chaos that follows in Steve’s wake as he is dragged kicking and screaming into a series of perilous adventures that take the mismatched in-laws-to-be halfway around the world.

My 79 year old father-in-law was recently diagnosed with secondary (metastatic) liver cancer.?
He has multiple lesions on his liver. The doctors have been unable to determine the primary site of the cancer. They "think" it may be the pancreas and have advised that it is sometimes difficult to diagnose cancer in the pancreas. He is bleeding internally and has needed several blood transfusions over the last 6 months. He has lost 35-40 pounds. His ankles are very painful and all the doctors can say is that it is an infection, which they are treating with aggressive intravenous antibiotics. Due to his age and other heath concerns (prior heart attacks), the doctors do not think chemo is possible. He has not been given a prognosis; (no one has asked). Can anyone give me a prognosis of how long he might have?

I am sorry to tell that with liver metastases the prognosis is poor
abossi | Feb 08, 2010

It is difficult to treat cancer with chemo when you do not know the primary site. They should be able to tell from a liver biopsy. He should have also had a PET. If this is the only area cancer is seen it will depend on how much his liver is involved. If it is pancreatic cancer the median survival is 2-6 months. If they cannot stop the internal bleeding it will be several days to a few weeks.

Need Poetry Homework Help. What is author's intent for Ashes of Soldiers?
i am not creative. i cant think of a good answer. heres to poem so you dont have to look for it.

Ashes of soldiers South or North,
As I muse retrospective murmuring a chant in thought,
The war resumes, again to my sense your shapes,
And again the advance of the armies.
Noiseless as mists and vapors,
From their graves in the trenches ascending,
From cemeteries all through Virginia and Tennessee,
From every point of the compass out of the countless graves,
In wafted clouds, in myriads large, or squads of twos or threes or
single ones they come,
And silently gather round me.
Now sound no note O trumpeters,
Not at the head of my cavalry parading on spirited horses,
With sabres drawn and glistening, and carbines by their thighs, (ah
my brave horsemen!
My handsome tan-faced horsemen! what life, what joy and pride,
With all the perils were yours.)
Nor you drummers, neither at reveille at dawn,
Nor the long roll alarming the camp, nor even the muffled beat for burial,
Nothing from you this time O drummers bearing my warlike drums.
But aside from these and the marts of wealth and the crowded promenade,
Admitting around me comrades close unseen by the rest and voiceless,
The slain elate and alive again, the dust and debris alive,
I chant this chant of my silent soul in the name of all dead soldiers.
Faces so pale with wondrous eyes, very dear, gather closer yet,
Draw close, but speak not.
Phantoms of countless lost,
Invisible to the rest henceforth become my companions,
Follow me ever–desert me not while I live.
Sweet are the blooming cheeks of the living–sweet are the musical
voices sounding,
But sweet, ah sweet, are the dead with their silent eyes.
Dearest comrades, all is over and long gone,
But love is not over–and what love, O comrades!
Perfume from battle-fields rising, up from the foetor arising.
Perfume therefore my chant, O love, immortal love,
Give me to bathe the memories of all dead soldiers,
Shroud them, embalm them, cover them all over with tender pride.
Perfume all–make all wholesome,
Make these ashes to nourish and blossom,
O love, solve all, fructify all with the last chemistry.
Give me exhaustless, make me a fountain,
That I exhale love from me wherever I go like a moist perennial dew,
For the ashes of all dead soldiers South or North.

ex girlfriend leaving?
well my name is chris i just turned 24 yesterday feb 2nd, and my question is that i was with my ex girlfriend for over two years im going to try to make this short and to the point. well she is leaving california and moving to italy with no chances of her ever coming back, reason she is moving is because she finds the life here in california very hard for her and jobs here are not paying the bills and she needs a change in lifestyle, now a little about her she is 23 old has a 6 year old boy from a previouse relationship. and as for me im in the army i love my job and family im a mommas boy and i soupport my family. well her and i are very good friends we still care for each other we consider ourselves best friends till thee end. she is leaving in three weeks i love her to death i always have she bought a round trip ticket and she is expected to leave to italy on the 28 of february she is expected to comeback sometime in november but she says if everything goes well in italy she will stay there…..okay now to get to my question i dont want her to go but i want her to excel and improve in life and i always found myself as the one that holds her back i dont know what i should do im tearing up writting about this im a soldier i dont cry im not allowed too, i know your probably asking yourself why did we break up in the first place well it was because of my insecurities and my stupidity of loosing physical and emotional attraction towards her which im kicking myself in the ass for this, so im asking you what should i do should i leave her in peace and take this as a lesson from life or should i stop her…..please help me….i am very desperate for an answer so i will publicly display my email for an answer thank you christiam.coronado@gmail.com

hmm when shes gone u will have me in bed :)
John | Feb 04, 2010

you need to really tell her how you feel, and how much its tearing you up. if she doesnt feel the same way, you need to let her just live her life and wish her the best. i think its important you tell her these things, not actually stop her, have a heart to heart with her and if its not the same with her, than you need to move on
Theresa | Feb 04, 2010

I think you are the best judge here. Go after your feelings, or whatever you think will make you comfortable, you might regret not talking to her and stopping her, if you are really into her, you should tell her. You never know what happens, she might come back, I’ve met a lot of poeple who said that they will never come back to their home town but at the end they did. Don’t loose hope, give yourself another chance

Where in Italy is she going because i have family there.. not too easy there at all. not to mention, lets say she does succeed then the MOB is going to want a cut of everything or else theyll set fire to her business ..or her. This isnt a movie its real…
hoolius ceezer | Feb 04, 2010

Well Chris, I’m 21 and I’m going through the same thing. I’m in love with a beautiful blonde green-eyed snow-white literature teacher from Latin America, almost ten years older. She is the kind of woman who is the very most difficult to get over.

I’m not going to stop talking to her, but I find that thinking about my own self-development, helps me when I’m obsessed. I’m learning to live and work primarily on myself, so that one day I may exude the same air on some others in the world that she does on me. I think that the expressive arts are my salvation.

I still want to look more attractive, pursue prestigious degrees, make a lot of money, travel the world, write… I know that in any case, this is going to help me more than pining over her day and night, because even the catharsis of my deepest, most exhaustive emotional depths doesn’t stir anything in her heart.

This is a good solution, don’t you think?
Murad | Feb 04, 2010

leave her in peace and take this as a lesson from life.
Terry | Feb 04, 2010

there is something missing in this story.it all may have to do with you being a mommas boy. could be that you forgot to be supportiveto her and her son. i know the child is not yours.but she needs someone to help her out. and that is why she is moving.because she is getting nowhere. my best advise. let her go. and support your family. good luck.and thanks for helping our country.

Help on getting xanex?
I used to do a lot of drugs when I was 15-18. Just a great big random grab bag of stuff. I quit and I’m totally sober (been so for years) the problem is totally sober just isn’t working for me anymore. I get lots of panic attacks, I have bad sleep problems where I basically can’t fall asleep until I’m drop dead tired etc. Usually this leaves me being up all night and asleep all day because my mind really tends to wander at night. I’ll worry a lot, sometimes about literally nothing.. just feel worried for the sake of feeling so apparently. I hate people, I hate having to leave the house.

I think a lot of the reasons for my panic attacks and what not are from my previous drug use, it’s been years though and at this point it’s obviously not just going away with time.

My father recently died and I have a baby coming in about a month. I’m stressed to the max, I need to get something to balance me so I can function. The reason I want xanex is I’ve taken it in the past during my druggy years and it worked wonders for me, now that was with out a script. I just generally feel nice and happy, yeah sure a little high but at least I don’t mind functioning!

I feel like my chances of actually getting a script are slim – none. I’ve had actual pain problems and trying to get pain killers was always hell. I can’t imagine a quest for xanex going any better. I don’t have tons of money to waste on doctors visits/scripts I don’t want. I can’t take most medications, they tweek me out. I can’t even smoke weed anymore if I wanted to (Which I don’t) because I just get super paranoid from it. Hell, some weeks I can’t even really drink caffeine because it’ll screw with me.

If you’re going to lecture me then save it, there’s no moral crime in having a problem and you just actually happen to know what may fix it.

Beside that, any help is appreciated. I feel like just telling them this would not work out, with or with out mentioning I actually want the xanex.

the whole point of a horror movie is to be scared out of your nuts!
dont ask on here, go see for yourself…

and if your that scared then dont watch it in the first place, hun
cocorosie | Oct 28, 2009

He has claws that he uses to slice and dice his victims. This movie wasn’t really about horror but fighting. The only part that is scary is when Laurie is in the police station after the murder of her friend and she dreams of a little girl with no eyes.
Jordan | Oct 28, 2009

He does various stuff when he gets into their dreams.
For example: He writes in a guy’s back "Freddy’s back!"
Another example: Chopping heads off, or was that Jason.
Anyway, it is a tiny bit scary but for me, and I get scared easily, it was just a little scare, but barely.
Not a lot of things that pop up at you and give you a hard attack! lol!
